01 · Material
Stone Worktops
Granite, marble and quartz are investment surfaces. A considered routine keeps their character for decades.
- 01Wipe daily with a soft cloth and warm water; reserve mild dish soap for spills — never abrasive creams or scourers.
- 02Blot spills immediately, especially wine, citrus, oil and vinegar, to protect against etching on marble and staining on granite.
- 03Re-seal natural stone every twelve to eighteen months with an impregnating sealer; engineered quartz needs no sealing.
- 04Always use chopping boards and trivets — stone is hard but can chip and thermal shock can hairline-crack the surface.
02 · Material
Timber Cabinetry
Solid timber and veneered doors move with the seasons. Care is mostly about stable humidity and gentle cleaning.
- 01Dust with a soft, dry cloth and clean with a barely-damp cloth — never saturate timber or let water sit in joints.
- 02Keep relative humidity between 40–60% where possible; use a humidifier in dry winters to prevent shrinkage gaps.
- 03Avoid silicone polishes and wax build-up; a quality furniture cream once or twice a year is enough to nourish the finish.
- 04Refinish scratches with a touch-in stick matched to your door colour — ask us and we will supply the right shade.
03 · Material
Lacquered Finishes
Hand-painted and matt lacquered doors reward a light hand and the right cloth. Keep them luminous, not layered.
- 01Clean with a soft microfibre cloth and a solution of warm water with a drop of mild soap; dry immediately with a second cloth.
- 02Never use solvent cleaners, ammonia or abrasive pads — they dull lacquer and strip hand-painted finishes.
- 03Open doors shortly after cooking to release steam and prevent the finish softening around the range.
- 04Tighten hinges gently every six months; lacquered doors are stable but cabinetry settles in the first year.
04 · Material
Bedroom Upholstery & Fabrics
Headboards, upholstered panels and wardrobe interiors stay beautiful with regular, gentle attention.
- 01Vacuum upholstered panels monthly on a low setting with a soft brush attachment to lift dust from the weave.
- 02Treat spills at once by blotting — never rub — with a clean, dry cloth, working from the edge inward.
- 03Keep bedroom humidity moderate to protect both fabrics and the timber frames behind them.
- 04Rotate cushions and removable panels seasonally so wear and light exposure remain even across the room.
